Alessandro Caronia Architect seeks an effective synthesis between traditional and contemporary workflow methodologies. Any project of any scale starts with a careful analysis of the client’s brief, aspirations and requirements, and a study of the site and its potentials. The first design response to be submitted to clients is always a handmade concept sketch, which is developed and refined working closely and collaboratively with the clients themselves. The subsequent design stages, from development of the scheme to the detailed project, are managed through a building information modelling (BIM) workflow using an always up-to-date Archicad software platform.

The Practice’s effective use of BIM technology has recently proven crucial for the development of schemes for both private and public clients. This is the case with public projects such as the one for the regeneration of Formigine’s historic centre (Modena - ITALY), where BIMX hypermodel technology was crucial to fully communicating the potentials of the scheme to town council members and citizens alike and securing their involvement in the process, while quantity takeoff methodology is very useful for development of the detailed project and specification.

The BIM based Practice approach is also turning out to be a crucial factor in winning new work and in being able to fully collaborate with other practices, whenever this is required in line with the scale of the brief.
