Retail
From 2001 to 2003 Alessandro Caronia acted as Consultant to an interior design firm in Northern Italy, with projects and builds for womenswear, footwear & accessories shops.
The interiors of the Morando boutique in Santa Margherita Ligure (Genoa) are characterized by leather upholstered or enamelled display walls with stainless steel frames. The other furniture was created using the same system (design Alessandro Caronia Architect, Luca Bellin).
In the scheme for a footwear shop the display walls are made with satinised steel frames and panels with “neutral” parts in opaline acrylic, and “active” parts with graphics behind transparent acrylic. The graphics are made with pictures of beautiful pavements which form a background for the shoes on display. The joints between neutral and active panels and between the frames are made of leather finished in a range of colours. The large and small “gondola” stands and the cash desk are designed using similar criteria.
