Clayton

Apartment

The apartment is located on the top floor of a Victorian residential block facing Elgin Crescent.

The layout and space were made more fluid and functional by taking limited measures.

The living/dining space is extended by means of a large opening in the entrance partition wall. The kitchen is linked to the living - dining area through a full height opening in a load bearing wall. The playroom is linked to the child’s bedroom by means of another opening in a load bearing wall.

The cupboard for drying clothing in one corner of the master bedroom has an external “shell” in perforated aluminium sheet, and is the first prototype for the development of the “Arco” free standing version (see Object Design).
